How do I know if my fuel control module is bad?
A bad or failing ECM may produce any of the following 5 symptoms to alert the driver of a potential problem.
- Check Engine Light Turns On. An illuminated Check Engine Light is one possible symptom of a problem with the ECM.
- Engine Stalling or Misfiring.
- Engine Performance Issues.
- Car Not Starting.
- Poor Fuel Economy.
Where is the fuel-pump reset button?
Look for the fuel pump switch or inertia switch. This is a small box with a plastic button on top and an electrical connector at the bottom. On some vehicle models, this will be located in the luggage compartment. Look on a side panel for a small, round button which you can pry off with a small screwdriver.
