How did Aang the Airbender die?
Essentially Aang’s death can be attributed to a complicated form of old age. As Aang grew older the 100 years he spent trapped in an iceberg started to catch up with him. His life energy was drained and he eventually died at the relatively young biological age of 66. But Avatar Aang left behind a powerful legacy.
Did Aang technically die?
This cycle continued for thousands of years until after Aang’s death, when his spiritual successor, Korra, was born. Unalaq then fought Korra as the Dark Avatar and managed to sever her from Raava’s spirit. He then struck a depleted Raava multiple times, killing all of the Avatar spirits that existed inside of her.
Did Zuko die?
Zuko is still alive, and had passed down his raign as Fire Lord to his daughter. A recap for other characters: Aang is obviously dead, no duh. From what we know, Aang most likely died from being drianed of his energy from being in the avatar state for 100 years in the iceberg. Katara is still alive!
Does Korra die?
Korra was poisoned in order to activate the Avatar State so the Red Lotus could end the Avatar Cycle. She was told the poison would force her body into the Avatar State, enabling the Red Lotus to end the Avatar Cycle if they killed her in the Avatar State.
How did katara revive Aang?
Katara used spirit water to heal Aang following a fatal injury he sustained in Ba Sing Se. Spirit water is water imbued with spiritual energy, providing it with special healing properties. Notably, a vial filled with this water was used by Katara to revive Avatar Aang after the battle in the Crystal Catacombs.
Is Momo alive in Legend of Korra?
Momo. Bumi to Team Avatar. Momo was a winged lemur and a loyal companion of Avatar Aang and his friends. By late 99 AG, he lived at the Southern Air Temple and was the only known specimen of the winged lemur species to still be alive after the Air Nomad Genocide.
Who did Katara end up with?
Katara eventually married Aang, and she later gave birth to the couple’s three children: a waterbending daughter named Kya, named after Katara’s mother, a nonbender son named Bumi, named after Aang’s old friend named King Bumi, and an airbending son named Tenzin.

Korra and Asami succeed in escaping, but Korra is forced to give herself up so Zaheer will not harm the captive airbenders. Zaheer double-crosses Korra, taking her unconscious body with him, poisoning her with mercury so she can enter the Avatar State and be killed in it to end the Avatar Cycle.
