If you are not going to be pulling doubles or a tri-ax with 100,000 lbs, then a 3176 will work fine. As far a reliability, I haven’t had as good of luck with mine. It started getting fuel into the oil a few years ago, but the Cat shop couldn’t find the source of the leak, so I just changed the oil more often.
