Changing the three spark plugs at the front of the engine is easy, changing the 3 spark plugs at the back of the engine requires removal of the intake manifold and some other parts. I’m DIY inclined but this looks like a job for the pros or advanced DIYer.

Just my two cents – wait for a coupon at the dealer (I did mine at 125,000 miles), buy the OEM plugs on eBay from another authorized Toyota dealer for 1/2 the price, bring them to your local dealer and have them do the spark plug change and any other gaskets – should be $400 or less and you’re good for another 100,000 miles or 10 years.

The driver side plenum bolt took a bit more effort, as there is not enough space to reach it under the throttle body. But at least there is no pipe that blocks it. When putting it all back, it was helpful to start passenger side bolt first, then driver side plenum bolt and only then throttle body bolt.
