Does a Nissan Terrano have a Cambelt?
Basically the Terrano comes in two flavours the 3.0l and 2.7 tdi. I have a 2.7 for numerous reasons. I like the fact that it doesn’t have a timing belt or chain, it’s gear driven, secondly it’s the same engine as used in London taxis so should be reliable and thirdly I can bung cooking oil in it to run it.
Are Terrano reliable?
More surprisingly, the Terrano is unlike most other Nissans in that it isn’t all that reliable – worse than average, according to Warranty Direct. The company says that the Terrano’s weakest point is its suspension, although the brakes, electrics and engines can also develop problems.

Why is my Nissan Terrano QD32 not working?
The turbocharger seals on the QD32 can wear and, in some cases, a complete failure of the turbocharger can result. It’s usually a result of inadequate maintenance – older diesel engines like these do not like dirty oil and turbos, seals and oil feed galleries are particularly prone to sludge and block up.

The tow rating for the Terrano is surprisingly small. In standard form, it will pull 750kg unbraked (a medium-size garden trailer), and only 1,200kg braked (a small trailer boat). With a heavy-duty towing kit this rises to 2,200kg, a medium-sized trailer boat.
