What is TYSABRI TOUCH?
INDICATION. TYSABRI® (natalizumab) is indicated as monotherapy for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis, to include clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting disease, and active secondary progressive disease, in adults.
Can TYSABRI be given in the home?
Tysabri (natalizumab) infusions given in the home to people with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) save money and are more convenient, while apparently as safe and effective as those given in clinical settings, a pilot study comparing the two delivery methods reported.
Who can administer TYSABRI?
TYSABRI will be prepared and given to you by a doctor or nurse. TYSABRI will be diluted before it is given to you. It is given as a drip through a needle placed into a vein (IV infusion), usually in your arm. This takes about 1 hour.
How do you infuse TYSABRI?
Administration Instructions
- Infuse TYSABRI 300 mg in 100 mL 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection, USP, over approximately one hour (infusion rate approximately 5 mg per minute).
- Observe patients during the infusion and for one hour after the infusion is complete.
How many years can you stay on TYSABRI?
Findings were consistent with the previous studies of TYSABRI for up to 10 years of treatment.
Which is better TYSABRI or Ocrevus?
Results showed that annual relapse rates were lower for Tysabri than Ocrevus, and patients on Tysabri were significantly less likely to have had any relapse after 12 or 24 months of treatment. Further analyses indicated that patients on Tysabri were at an approximately 30% lower risk of any relapse.
Does TYSABRI need to be protected from light?
TYSABRI single-dose vials must be refrigerated between 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Do not use beyond the expiration date stamped on the carton and vial label. DO NOT SHAKE OR FREEZE. Protect from light.
How long is a TYSABRI infusion?
With TYSABRI, trained healthcare professionals administer your relapsing MS infusion* every 28 days. The actual infusion takes about an hour. You’re then asked to stay for another hour just to make sure you’re not having an infusion-related reaction that may need medical attention.
Does Tysabri weaken immune system?
TYSABRI may increase your chance of getting an unusual or serious infection because TYSABRI can weaken your immune system. Low platelet counts. TYSABRI may cause the number of platelets in your blood to be reduced.
