What kind of power mirror does Toyota Sequoia have?
Hello, I have a 2004 Sequoia Limited 4WD that has the power-folding, heated side mirrors. Recently the drivers’ side mirror began making a loud clicking noise whenever the mirrors were in the OPEN position – if I pressed the FOLD button, the mirrors would fold inward and the noise would stop.

Sounds like the mirror retractor motor has a grounded wire. Get the wire diagram for the mirror circuit and look for the wire to the motor. Unplug the mirrors and check those wires for a short to ground. Between each mirror and the switch. If no short in wires then plug in 1 mirror at a time the one that starts the trouble needs to be replaced.

Pull out the mirror switch from the center console. Use a jewelers flat head screw driver to ease it out. Cut back the black tape that is wrapping the wires on the wiring harness. Find the Yellow wire and cut it a few inches away from the connector.
