Often there will be a BC CC before the color code. This stands for Basecoat/Clearcoat. The U in the paint code means the Upper Color and the L means the Lower Color. Two tone vehicles will have each color coded, i.e. 96U and say 36L.

Two letter paint codes identify two-tone combinations. The first letter identifies the main body color, second letter the upper or lower roof color. Dulux is not recommended for the repair of LUCITE – or other Acrylic Lacquer finishes.

Are there any paints that are the same formula?
No two paints will ever technically be exact even when you use the “same” formula. Different sheens and bases will almost always use either a different formula or different color combinations to achieve virtually the same color. Its been said a hundred times. Color is subjective and no 2 people see the exact same.
Do you need a formula for Benjamin Moore paint?
Emmarene- I did have them scan the swatch but Benjamin Moore gives out formulas in S1,S2, Y1,Y2, W1, W2 etc. I need the formula in a different type code if I want to use it on most online color sites.
