What is Shell Tellus Oil used for?
Shell Tellus S2 M fluids can be used effectively in mobile hydraulic power applications such as excavators and cranes, except where significant ambient temperature variations are encountered.
Is Shell Tellus synthetic?
It includes extra-long-life synthetic technologies capable of up to four times standard life*, through to cost-effective, reliable products for less-demanding applications.
Is Tellus 32 hydraulic oil?
Shell Tellus S2 MX 32 is a high-performance, patented hydraulic fluid that improves the efficiency in most manufacturing and mobile equipment operations.
What is Tellus Oil?
Tellus Oils are highly resistant to degradation and sludge formation therefore improving system reliability and cleanliness. Tellus Oils have good chemical stability in the presence of moisture, which ensures long oil life and reduces the risk of corrosion and rusting.
What is VG 46 oil?
NYBASE ISO VG 46 is a mid-range viscosity speciality base oil for Group I replacement, with high Viscosity Index (VI), high Flash Point (FP) and excellent low temperature properties. Recommended for the formulation of industrial, automotive and metal working fluids.
What is Tost life in oil?
The life of the oil is measured as the time to reach an AN of 2 mgKOH/g. If a lubricant is continuously exposed to gross water contamination, high temperatures, and air entrainment in field service, TOST can be used as a potential indicator of lubricant life.
What is Shell Tellus S2 M 32?
Shell Tellus S2 MX 32 fluids are high performance hydraulic fluids based on Group II base oils that provide outstanding protection and performance in most manufacturing and many mobile equipment operations.

What is the difference between VG 46 and AW 46?
AW 46 Hydraulic Oils contain a zinc anti-wear additive that is designed to protect hydraulic systems and equipment by reducing wear. AW 46 hydraulic fluids have an International Standards Viscosity Grade or ISO VG of 46. This is the thickness of the fluid tested at 40 degrees Celsius.
Is ISO 46 the same as ISO VG 46?
Now to the numbers: 22, 46 and 315 refer to the viscosity grade (VG) of the oil; 22 and 46 are ISO grades and refer to the oil’s kinematic viscosity in centistokes at 40 degrees Celsius, plus or minus 10 percent. So, an ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil has a viscosity of between 41.4 and 50.6 centistokes at 40 degrees Celsius.
