Why does my Subaru Outback make no noise?

I just left the Subaru factory clamp next to the new clamp to just reinforce the clamping power. Well, started my day at 6:30 A.M. this morning, started “Penny” my Outback up, without warming up the engine, turned the steering wheel and NO NOISE…..!!!!! Hope this helps someone else that has this problem.
