Totaling one million square feet of meeting space, OCC offers 255,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, two grand ballrooms, 52 individual meeting rooms, superior catering and retail food offerings. OCC welcomes 500,000 visitors and holds an average of 500 events annually.
When was the convention center built?
Convention Hall opened on February 22, 1899 with a performance by John Phillip Sousa’s band. It hosted other notable guests before burning to the ground in April 1900, just three months before the Democratic National Convention was slated to be held at the venue.

SacAnime Summer 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. SacAnime Winter 2021 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Sacramento Convention Center not being available. SacAnime successfully held a Swap Meet during the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2021.
