Does carista work with Dr Prius?
On the carista website, they also say that it works with Dr. Prius. I’ve plugged in the adapter and the Carista app finds the device just fine (though it takes much longer to scan everything that I care to like), when I load the Dr. Prius app it says “0 devices found”.

You just plug it into the obdII connector under the dash of an 04-09 and probably 2010 Prius and leave it connected. It even auto shuts down when the car shuts down so no worries about running the 12V batt. down.. I think with the Miniscanner for 01-03 you had to manually power it on and off, but no problems there.
