Why does my Nissan Primastar not start over night?
Basically the engine turns over but it wont start – give it a bit of easy start or tow it and it fires up. After this it will start ( although it turns over too much before it will start ). Then I leave it over night and it wont start again! I have had a leak off test done for the injectors and they are ok,squeezing the primer makes no difference.
Are there any solenoids on a Nissan Primastar?
Everything as Angus says, but fuel rail pressure sensors and fuel feed solenoids are a known on Nissan. Surprised at 4 garages missing some basic tests! Thanks fellas, I am in watford hertfordshire – would any of you know a good garage that is in close proximity to me?

What kind of problem does a Primastar have?
Hi, GOt same starting issue on 505 Pirmastar with 110,000 miles – just cut out. Garage say new fuel pump and timing belt at £650….Should i ask them these questions about injectir leak-off readings, cam sensor signals as you describe.

Where is the airbox on a Nissan Primastar?
The airbox is mounted on rubber bushings which wear and in the case of the rear one.. disintegrate. This allows the airbox to drop and rest on the top of the wires where they bend. In time they will rub through, you’ll not know anything until the coil light starts appearing.
Can a Primastar lose power when going up a Gradiant?
Guys need your thoughts ,I have a nissan primastar and have noticed that it loses power especially going up a gradiant the preheating warning light comes on .Any ideas ? many thanks in advance
Do you need fault codes for Nissan Primastar?
You will need to have the fault codes read to narrow down where the problem is,it could anyone of a number of things and without the codes you will be playing an expensive guessing game.

Hi hanholme the problem was the rubber pipe had come loose on the turbo charger and all that was needed was it to be put back on ……did I feel a plonker or what ,mind you in my defence it is only a small pipe and the mechanic didnt spot it for a while .
