Why is the hatch on my Honda CRV not opening?
For information, the MCIU requires all doors to be unlocked as a requirement to open the hatch. The knob switch in each door sends that signal to the MCIU. In my case the unlock signal from the front passenger side knob switch was missing because the connector was not fully inserted. Good job finding the fix!

Disconnected the connectors from the rear hatch lock actuator and from the rear hatch switch. With a meter verified that pin #1 of the switch connect reads to ground, and that pin #1 of the actuator connector reads to ground. Measured 11.1 volts at pin #2 of the rear hatch switch.

Press the unlock button from the inside, by doing so all doors will unlock and anybody without the fob can open all the doors including the rear hatch. (fob hatch button will only unlock the rear hatch). The only downside for this is it will unlock all doors.
