Why is the fuel pump not working on my Ducati 748?

Closest I can come is starting the bike cold after sitting over night. Letting the bike warm up, then shut if off. 10-15 minutes later try to start it again and WHAM nothing. Fuel pump wont prime, starter button wont turn over the solenoid.

What kind of bike is the Ducati 748?

The bike ran great last two rides, came out of a stop, got through second, then just died. Very strange. The bike is a 2001 748BP, in pristine condition w/ 9500 miles all service completed by LT Snyder himself. Not sure what else to check.

How much does it cost to buy a Ducati?

You can go to your Ducati dealer and order one or both @ about $35 a pop and wait a week, a month, or ’til whenever the Italians decide they want to send it, but it gets even better: Take one over to NAPA (Autozone, whatever you have) and they have a Chinese-made equivalent for about $8. At that price, buy two.

Why does my Ducati 748 not start up?

If you don’t have power at the relay, a new one doesn’t do much good. There should be two sources of power, one being switched and one doing the switching. If you have power at the switched pin on the relay, then it is possible the relay is faulty. If not, then the relay is probably not the culprit.

What to do if your Ducati won’t start?

If you still have no luck, leave it with a dealer with the Ducati test computer which shows everything going on in that ECU and they can give all those readings and symptoms to DNA on the phone while they try to diagnose it! Keep up posted! The first time I tried to start it, it came very close to cranking.
