Why is the fan not working on my Subaru?
When the fan wouldn’t work it wouldn’t blow at all, not on any speed. The lights on the fan unit worked, so it was getting power. Ah, okay. It likely isn’t the resistor pack in that case. It could be a connection to it, tho. Let me dig out a schematic for that car… edit: It also has a fan relay that could be bad.
Where is the fuse box on a Subaru?
There’s likely a fuse box under the hood and another one near your left knee. The one under your hood are the ones usually related to your AC (marked “AC”) and they supply your blower fan inside the car with juice to run. You mentioned that your AC had also not always worked so was wondering whether it has a bad or loose fuse
How much does it cost to replace a fan in a Subaru?
He went to get the exact price and came back to say the tech note says when replacing the resistor that the blower motor must also be replaced, as the new resistor can ruin the old motor. The new total would be about $800.
Why is the fuse on my radiator not working?
It is a very common problem that results in radiator fan failure: the fuse may burn off or simply fall off. You will, though, have to consult the owner’s manual to find out where exactly you can find the fuse, but once you have, it is an easy task.
Why are the fan relays on my Subaru not working?
Losing one relay (sub fan relay) can cause both fans to be off when the system is calling for slow speed operation. But if the car is overheating both fans should be running at high speed, in which case, if the sub fan relay has failed, the main fan will still function.
Is the sub Fan still working with the AC on?
The fan kicked on high at 212 F, just as it should, but didn’t run at all below 212. With the AC on, it ran on high all the time, so the engine temp was actually below 200 with the AC on. The main fan is still working today. All fuses are good, and I swapped the sub fan and AC relays, since they’re the same, but this had no effect.

What are the fuses for the sub Fan?
Fuses 3 and 4 (or their equivalents) should be marked as cooling fan (main, sub) fuses in the Owners Manual (Specifications Section). Fuses 22 and 26 are not marked as radiator fan fuses in my Owners Manual; they are AC and Power Window respectively.
Why are the radiator fans not working on a Subaru Legacy?
I might be super late to the thread but I have a 2006 Subaru legacy 2.5 non turbo I’ve changed the thermostat the radiator the fans work to switch works all the relays work the one thing that really got me was bleeding the radiator. Once I did that and once I figured out that that was problem everything worked fine

Can a Subaru blower motor be replaced automatically?
I called PepBoys and 2 Subaru dealers to get quotes for replacing the resistor as well as the blower motor. I figured if anyone would give me the highest prices, it’d be them. Everyone confirmed that the motor doesn’t need to be automatically replaced when replacing the resistor.
What’s the problem with my Subaru a / C?
I posted a question last week about my Subaru’s a/c. Now it’s become more complicated. Brief recap: My a/c started blowing less cool air so they recharged the system and added a dye to see if it leaks.
When do you turn off the AC do the fans turn on?
When you turn your AC on and the car is cold (ie hasn’t been driving to have it be warmed up yet), do your fans on the radiator turn on? They should. When you subsequently turn the AC back off, those fans should go back off as well. Just saw your edits and cost estimates above. The estimate he gave me:
