Why is the coolant not coming out of my Jeep?
I have never noticed a leak, or anything damp on the Jeep. No coolant in the oil, or no leaking through the exhaust. Any ideas on what is happening to the coolant? The only thing I can figure is it is seaping out the waterpump and drying on the warm engine. I can’t really smell anything though. Any help appreciated.
What happens if you lose antifreeze with no apparent leak?
Losing Antifreeze With No Apparent Leak. Whenever a vehicle loses antifreeze, also known as coolant, the usual expectation leads the owner to check for evidence of leaks at all the coolant connections and components. Obvious coolant leaks can usually be found in the form of puddles left on the pavement.
What does it mean when antifreeze goes out of an engine?
It could be a blown head gasket, a fractured cylinder head, damaged cylinder bores, or a manifold leak. It could also be a hydraulic lock. If the antifreeze vanishes without any apparent reason, check these components for cracks, damage, or defects. Any of these issues can destroy the engine if it is going for too long.
What should I do if my car is losing coolant?
Engine overheating and coolant are closely related to each other. Loss of the liquid can lead to the overheated condition but overheating can also contribute to the coolant loss. Just fill up the tank to the maximum limit and keep an eye on the engine condition and the rate of coolant usage.
What kind of antifreeze do you use on a Jeep Wrangler?
^^^The one on the left is HOAT Antifreeze. It is used in the 2012 and prior! The one on the right is OAT Antifreeze. It is used in the 2013 through 2015 models. Do not use the wrong antifreeze, because they are not compatible!!!!!!!! You are best off, to just purchase from your Jeep Dealer.

What does it mean if your car is losing coolant but no leak?
However, you may breathe easy if the mechanic does not find any trace of exhaust gases in the coolant. It means that the liquid has not reached the engine yet. The radiator cap can deteriorate over time, letting antifreeze slip through when you are driving. A clogged radiator system could be a problem too as it blocks the flow of the liquid.

Why is the coolant coming out of my GTO?
On my GTO, the radiator was cracked (POS plastic end caps, wtf) and it didn’t really show any physical signs of coolant leaking, but my level would get much lower, pretty quickly. After while, I guess it got big enough to start overheating (that and the loss of coolant), so finally figured out what was going on.
What should you do when your car is losing coolant but no leak?
Generally, there should be a leak somewhat if the vehicle is losing a high amount of antifreeze. However, a car could be losing coolant but no leak. What should you do when coolant disappearing from reservoir without leaving any trace?
Where is the coolant in the radiator when there is no leak?
There’s a COLD/MIN label on the tank indicating the ideal antifreeze level when the engine is cold. The coolant in the radiator should be just below the filler neck. When you are losing coolant but no leak is visible, several parts could be the guilty party.

What kind of coolant does a jeep Zerex use?
Except Zerex G-05 is dyed the Ford Amber instead of the Chrysler Orange-Red or Pink…. …there is really no reason to spend extra for the OEM HOAT, in fact Chrysler dye’s there replacement anti-freeze a different color than the factory fill, so there is no reason to do it for the color….. Chrysler OAT is being kept secret.
What causes the head gasket to fail on a Jeep Grand Cherokee?
While there are many reasons that your Grand Cherokee’s head gasket can fail, the most common ones have to do with the cooling system causing the engine to overheat. Low Engine Coolant– If there is not enough coolant to properly cool the engine, it’ll overheat and blow the head gasket.
How does the cooling system on a Jeep Cherokee work?
Your Cherokee’s cooling system works by cycling the engine coolant from the engine through the radiator. The water pump pushes the water through the entire system. The thermostat opens up once the engine reaches operating temperature and allows coolant in. If any part of this system fails, your Cherokee will eventually overheat.
What are the symptoms of a Jeep Cherokee overheating?
If your Cherokee is run for too long of a period while overheating, the head gasket may blow. Bad head gasket symptoms include white smoke coming from the tail pipe, rough idle, and oil in the coolant. Shutting down before it overheats, or as soon as you see that it is overheating will usually prevent this from happening.
