Her local marina mechanic has changed the thermostats, replaced the gaskets to the low pressure pumps and adjusted the cables. Each time he fixes something, the boat initially runs well but then develops problems.

If you have low voltage as you stated (11.8) , your alternator may not be charging… My 90 yamaha 2 stroke had fuses under the motor cover on one side of the engine block… not sure on a 200 yamaha… Perhaps you should change out your fuel filter (s)and add some Startron to your fuel tank as well…
Can a Yamaha 200hp engine go past 3000 rpm?
I can not get her past 3000 RPMs! It sounds fine, there’s no unusual vibration, there’s no smoke, and no oily sheen on the water. Not wanted to risk further damage to the engine I abandoned my two day trip before even wetting a line. Right now I’m heading in with the 8 horse kicker at 3.5-4 knots.
