Why is my Porsche key flashing?
Only Porsche Centres have key readers but otherwise data is not useful for owners. When the key light flashes it is just syncing data from the car to the key and vice versa to let the car know if key battery is low or not found etc.

How does an alarm work on a Boxster?
If I use the key remote the alarm chirps once, the lights flash, and both doors plus the gas door lock, and the alarm indicator light on top of the dash flashes. Upon unlocking/disarming with the key remote, the alarm chirps twice and everything gets unlocked as it should.
