Why is my GMC power folding mirror not working?
Its a highway hazard when driving at high speeds 100-140km without a right side mirror throws the driver off. I was UNABLE to manually coax the mirror into the unfolded state, like the motor was seized or locked in place. The mirror still provided power to the blind spot protection light when driving, so that was odd.

How do you replace worm gear on GM power folding mirror?
Use eye protection and be careful, the spring is heavy. Remove retaining ring, spring, lower spring perch. Then remove the black plastic motor housing and flip over to see the discrepant worm gear that GM never wanted you to find. Gently pop this worm/spur gear out using a small flat head screw driver.
