Ahhh Arctic Cat 660 4Stroke wont start! So our 2003 Arctic Cat 660 Touring 4stroke will not start again…. heres the thing. We just got her serviced at the end of last year. New high-performance battery put in and everything checked out.

It should show a closed circuit in the run position idle and open in the stop position. Then test from the male to male plug. It should show closed with throttle off and open with throttle on. This is the most common Arctic Cat ignition failure area. I would also check each fuse with your meter set to DC voltage.

When the motor is warm and I start it, the starter will kick out once there is any kind of release in tension on the flex shaft. Not a big issue but it forces you to “bump” start the unit until is catches. Is there a 660 Trail 4 stroke snowmobile?

The 4-stroke runs strong, is quiet, does not burn oil, and gets better gas mileage. There was a 660 Touring for sale on eBay a month or two ago with 20,000 miles on it and only had minor repairs but was well maintained. Good luck and hope this helps.

Problems with the HPOS are oil leaks (internal to the engine) due to failed/deteriorated O-rings that are caused by excessive oil temperatures (bad oil cooler) and high pressure.
