Why does my Volkswagen Golf TSI not go over 3000rpm?
MAybe just stuff that needs a clean. Volkswagen Golf tsi – Won’t go over 3000rpm limp mode ? – Avant Moved to Technical. The clutch for the supercharger is temperamental as our the change over flaps in the induction system and turbo waste gates are prone to sticking !

Not a Golf, not petrol and not a supercharger but my Citroen Xantia ocasionally puts on it’s engine management light and/or goes limp mode. Can be just a transient fault or a flap/valve that’s slow to open or close. If it’s cleared I’d suggest it’s not too serious but get a specialist to look at it. MAybe just stuff that needs a clean.
