Why does my starter keep engaging?
If it shows you have power, this may be the reason your solenoid is stay continuously engaged. The reason for this may be a bad switch or the cables may have a short. Please note that switches have been known to work intermittingly. Lastly, low voltage can also cause this issue.
Should you grease a starter motor?
No lube required; they are only engaged for a few seconds till motor starts. Adding grease or any other wet lube WILL attract dirt and debris and do premature wear to gears.

First you should check the Small wires at the Fender Solenoid. Hook one end of test lite to frame (ground). Disconnect small wires from Fender Solenoid. If Test lite comes On, then you have Voltage on that wire, which is Not right. Test wire. Should be NO Voltage. If there is let me know.
