Why does my rear wheel wobble when braking?
The small wobble causes series discomfort when braking from high speeds (I have disk brakes) since it makes it feel as if I am braking hard once per rotation causing me to jerk back and forwards a bit. Any idea on how to fix this? I have taken the wheel off and ensured that it was correctly aligned, yet this did not help.
What to do if your rear bike wheel is wobbling?
Wobble it up and down a few times. There should be absolutely no movement besides the spinning it’s meant to be doing. If this is wobbling, just tighten the hub cones slightly until there is no play. The rule is No play, No binding.
How can I tell if my bicycle wheel is loose?
If you’re not sure what “loose” is, feel your other wheel or the spokes on other sides of the wheel. While not all wobbly wheels have noticeably loose spokes, most do, which will point out the exact spoke where there is an issue. If a spoke is extremely loose, tighten it until it is about the same tension as those around it.
What’s the best way to check your bike’s rim?
Spin the rim and watch it from the side, noting any high spots using calipers or your fingers. Spin the bike and place your finger, a marker, or a set of calipers underneath the wheel, just below where it would touch the tire. Then spin the wheel and note where it rubs against the caliper.

How can I tell if my car rotors are warped?
