96 Polaris Indy 500, no spark. Swapped CDi and regulator with running sled. No spark. Keyswitch and kill switch show good continuity. Checked all connections, seem alright. Was running when put away last year.Any answers?
Why does my Polaris Indy 500 not work?
You can have a broken wire on the stator plate, going into the engine housing or where the wires are clipped to the stator plate by a metal clamp. Being it worked fine last year and doesn’t work now, perhaps there was water under your recoil cover and it froze and cracked the coil or that it rusted over the summer and corroded the coil wiring.

How do you run a carb at idle?
You just run the engine at idle placing your hand over the carb one at a time letting the engine stabilize inbetween and feel how much air the engine is taking in on each side adjust the idle screws until the idle is correct and both sides have the same sucking power. But you are better off the just go buy the 25 tool.

Why did my snowmobile not start the Indy 500?
Yep, you could leave alot of slack in the cables, but then of course it wouldn’t pull the plungers up enough to allow gas to prime the motor when it’s cold. The plunger has a spring pushing on it when the cable is bolted back on the carb and it that should keep the port closed and not allow gas to flow up from the float bowl.
