If Hyundai had simply made the rubber part that contacts the switch adjustable, exactly like the bigger rubber parts that adjust the hood itself (they thread in/out), then it would extremely easy to adjust. As it stands, neither part is adjustable – silly design. I was able to adjust the hood itself so it sat lower – but only barely.
What to do if your light switch doesn’t beep?

19 people found this helpful. On my daughter’s 2012 Elantra Limited, an under-hood switched (circuit closed when hood is closed) can bend down (away from the hood) cause the circuit to remain open. The switch is located toward the right sideof the car near the radiator.
