Why does my Honda Odyssey have no defrost?
Mode select motor stopped working and air was stuck coming out front vents (no floor, no defrost), no matter what the controls showed. 100% agree with marking position of levers (on the car) after removing motor (or don’t touch them) – a cell phone picture is a great way to go.
Why does my Honda Odyssey windshield freeze up?
The windshield will frost up inside on the upper 1/3 where my eyes look out. This is condensation and does not seem to be coolant. The only way to attempt to get rid of it is full windshield defrost. This results in frozen toes. I did try AUTO which mostly works. It results in a blasting fan just to keep the frost at bay.
Where does the air come from on a Honda Odyssey?
With full defrost, the air does come out of the upper dash vents. With combo defrost/floor, barely any air comes out of the upper dash… even at full fan. The air does fly out of the two forward facing vents which I close, but it does not force the air out of the upper dash.

What to do when your windshield defroster stops working?
If one of these components fails, the system can stop working. Solution: A repair shop will check the wiring and related parts to determine the cause of the problem, and then fix it. If the car’s blower fan isn’t working, you won’t get enough heated or cooled air onto the windshield to defrost it.

Touch the grid every three inches or so to find the break. It’s normal for the light to be brighter in some spots, as long as it lights up. If you find a break in the circuit, move the test wire back and forth until you know exactly where it stops working.
What causes a defroster door to get stuck?
In some cases an electrical motor can burn out or the gears inside the actuator can break causing the defroster door to get stuck. A climate control system can stop working after a battery replacement as the control prompt of the system is lost and needs to be rebooted by removing the defroster/heater fuse for a period of time and then reinserted.
