Why does my boat alarm keep going off?
The beeping alarm could be caused by a worn-out or damaged water pump impeller. Inboard and sterndrive engines usually have a raw water pump that is designed to cool the system and prevent overheating. If the impeller is broken it won’t be able to do its job properly.

On average they should run 140 to 160F, if your getting up over 190F, then it is overheating. If temp is good, then replace the temp sensor. If disconnecting the oil pressure switch silences the alarm. Then your next step really is to take an oil pressure reading with an analog gauge.
