Why does my bike stall at idle?
The most common reasons are carburetor issues such as a vacuum leak, fuel leak, or tuning issues. Other culprits could include corroded or cracked spark plugs or spark plug wires, a faulty ignition coil, a clogged air filter, or engine timing issues.

Start the bike cold. Mist the intake flanges with brake cleaner. If your bike’s idle drops, or the engine stalls, you have an intake leak. If this is the case, replace the intake seals along with the front & rear intake flanges. If the bike passes the intake test; have the dealer or your mechanic scan the m/c for possible codes.

After I’ve been riding for awhile and the engine warms up it will idle stronger and is usually fine, but once in awhile when I start from a stop sign or light it will stall and I’ll have to give it some throttle to start and idle up. Of course it never does it when the dealer has it.

Click to expand… yea it was runing good before and it start fine as usual just when riding that it stall. i am going to take the battery off and get it checked and clean the end as u said thank you , hopefully thats the issue Yea hopefully it something simple. Check plugs and wires also.

What happens to a Harley Davidson when it dies?
If it dies it will start right back up in neutral and then it will sputter a little bit while I “nurse” her back to my garage. It seems like “once the engine and oil gets hot then I have problems.
