Why are the reverse lights not working on my Jeep Grand Cherokee?
The reverse lights are a known problem on this generation of Jeep Grand Cherokee. 99-2003. The factory switch that activates the reverse lights is part of the valve body inside the transmission. When it fails typically the only problem is the lights not working, so I was not about to pay the $400+ for the valve body and open up the tranny.

Nobody knows? should be white/Lt green @ the Integrated poweer module. Should be the same color @ the light itself, i’d just go there. If you go to Just4jeeps.com and find the factory back-up cam instructions it shows you what color and where to find it.

In case the people plannin to add one want to know the connection with the tail light wasn’t good enough those wire tap things suck so I soldered the wires together and it all worked. anyone adding a cam should know that the reverse light is definitely the light green and white wire in the Wk. Can a Jeep Laredo go forward or reverse?
I am having a bit of a situation. I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Yesterday it was running forward and reverse with no problems. Well this morning as I do every morning, I started it, let it warm up for about 30 seconds or so, when i shift to reverse, guess what….wont go reverse.

No running lights on 3 different trailers have brake and directional but that’s it. Check all fuses and relays. The brown wire at the factory trailer plug which is your running light wire. goes from plug to a relay in a side panel in the back.

I used Plastic epoxy putty for this, It was used is to fill the gap between the micro switch and the shiftier, also it provides a small enough contact point (shaped like a triangle) so the switch is only activated when in reverse.

The only thing that comes to mine would be the S28 recall for the bad wire crimp problem. But that supposedly only covers early build 2016’s. You should at least take it to the dealer to see if it threw any trouble codes.
