Where is the water coming from in my Kia Forte?
For the past two weeks my car was smelling musty and mildew like and yesterday I say the front and rear passenger car mats and carpet are totally soaked. I used a towel to get up the excess water and left doors open in the sun to dry it out but don’t know where the water came or is coming in from.
Where is water leaking on the passenger side of a Kia?
You should be able to clean it out quite easy. It will be in front of the passenger side feet area. You may be able to see it from under the hood, or you may have to go from under the car. Look for a crinkly tube sticking down or it may be a 2- 3 inch downturned L shape tube on the firewall.
What is the problem with the Kia Forte?
Aside from the passenger side soaking problem it has had to have repairs on a leaking oil pan and timing chain cover. Fortunately the engine repairs were made under warranty but only after much fighting with the dealership. @jsework don’t worry about reviving the thread.
Why does my Kia Forte have mildew under the carpet?
If you’ve not had it repaired for two week and only dried out the carpet, you are also going to have mold/mildew issues and might need to replace the carpeting as well. There is insulation called jute under the carpet that will have remained wet this entire time. Has it been raining in your area? Usually, coolant will not mold or smell like mildew.
