Good luck. If I turn the bars all the way to the left and turn thr ignition switch all the way to the left and push up on the little tab under the switch I can remove it without the key being in their. Harley shop said they replaced the complete switch housing and the key housing but I can still remove it just like before. Any ideas whats wrong.

Why is my ignition switch on the left?
Problem is that the fork is locked in the left most position, and I can’t get to the screw in the fork well that releases the outer fairing!!! One thing after another. Supposedly I have to take the outer fairing off, remove the radio and then release the wire harness connector from the switch housing.

TQ; I used a dirt bike “tool kit” wrench handle to make my alignment tool. Even a thin screwdriver will work. The trick is to shine a light in, and see the notches so you can align them. Dimensions of my tool are; 4″ long, 7/16″ wide, 1/8″ thick.
