INSTALLATION
- START your vehicle.
- LOCATE the OBD-2 PORT under the driver-side dashboard.
- CHECK THE OBD2 PORT for any dirt, dust, or grime.
- PLUG IN the performance chip: Wait 15 seconds.
- PRESS & HOLD the SYNC/RESET button on the front of the chip for 15 seconds.
Do plug in performance chips work?
Performance chips may give you power but will also increase your engine’s risk of a power failure. Advertised gains by manufacturers often do not match real-life performance. Installing a performance chip would void an existing warranty on your vehicle.
Does tuning chip damage engine?
These “bolt-on” modifications alter the way that the engine flows, often causing the air to fuel ratio to change. A poorly tuned electronic control unit can result in decreased performance, driveability, and may even cause engine damage.
Is tuning your car illegal?
Tunes would be deemed illegal because they are not proven to comply with the relevant emission laws. The factory tunes need to allow for catalytic converter operation cold and hot and all other operating parameters such as NOx emissions etc.

The first one, the IAT response, while it could be in the documentation of the sensor manufacturer or the car manufacturer, the easiest way to know is by using a low-temperature source like ice or a cooling no-residue spray and directly measure the temperature and the resistance.

What kind of ECM do I need for a wire harness?
Any 1994-1997 LT1 ECM will work with this harness. It will however be up to you, the installer, to verify you have the right combination of knock sensor module, knock sensor part number, and the number of knock sensors needed for your application. See Section 4.3for the correct knock sensor information.
