Where can I buy a VVT solenoid for a Honda Odyssey?
I purchased the VVT/Spool valve gaskets from Ebay, because Honda doesn’t offer them, replaced and resolved the leak. I then cleaned the entire area good to remove as much oil as possible. 3 months now and so for so good. Regarding alternators, the only one to consider getting is a Denso remanufactured unit.

What happened with my ’08 Odyssey EX-L is that last year I needed the alternator replaced (150k kms). When Honda replaced it, they noted there was an oil leak on file but did not say anything to me about the risk of it ruining the new alternator. Fast forward 14 months, and my alternator was done.
Can a spool valve be replaced on a Honda Odyssey?
You can just replace the gasket i did plenty of them. And you are not the first person around here to have a leaking spool valve ruin an alternator. Apparently one can just replace the gasket, but if you are not dyi, then the whole thing is what a mechanic is going to want to do.

The mechanic that replaced the last alternator (in the middle of a road trip – that was loads of fun and money – so he’s out of state) told us the leak was coming for the VVT Solenoid.
