What was water in passenger side footwell and under car?
Love the car and all has been fine until last couple of weeks. Passenger side rear footwell was soaking wet, soaked a book that had fallen on the floor. Removed the plug under the car and water flowed out, everything dried out so figured a door/window had maybe been left open. car just serviced and MOT beginning of the week and all fine.
What to do if your rear footwell is wet?
The passenger side of the boot was wet and the rear passenger foot well is soaked. All the door/boot seals appear to be good, ive cleaned them all and run some Vaseline around them to check that they are all making good contact which they are.

Ive started to get a substantial amount of water leaking in to the passenger side rear footwell. All the other footwells are dry, as is the boot. The only thing that has been done is that the Windscreen was replaced a month or so ago.

Turns out there is a TSB for this, I was unable to actually locate the contents and determine whether the fix was replacement or adding something like RTV. Its the black plastic piece that needs to be replaced, part number 8K1819904A . 5 minute job to do.

After a big rainstorm this weekend I found the floor mat in my rear passenger footwell was dripping wet, along with the carpet beneath it. There was no other sign of water entrance: seats, door frame, etc. were all dry. It was enough to completely saturate the carpet and mat without having a visible pool of water.
