How much boost can a stock om617 handle?
With a stock IP and turbo you can reach about 150 hp with tuning, no IC needed. Removing the rear muffler WILL improve the engines response as it does restrict exhaust flow.

Where do timing marks line up on a 616 diesel?
Rotate the engine over so No.1 Cylinder comes all the way up on compression stroke to top dead center. The timing marks must line up on the crank pulley and the front of the camshaft and front cam tower. (refer to the factory engine manual or Haynes diesel manual).
