Is the 05 steering box the same as the 99-04?
05 steering boxes have a much bigger output shaft, so they are not the same as 99-04, if they will fit and/or work? i dont know. if it did bolt up, you would need an 05 pitman arm, and would need to check if the 99-04 ball joint will connect or if that is bigger too (i suspect) in which case its not going to work
Can a 05 steering box be replaced with Hydro assist?
The 05 Box has a larger shaft put is prone to breaking. Hydro Assist is the best way to fix the problem as it takes most of the stress off the box. Just throwing this in here.
