How to reset Becker radio 754 in 1986-1987?
1983 380SL, ivory/dk brown, 46k miles, dual roller timing chain. 1986 560SL, red/white, 190K mile. radios use codes. I am wanting to learn how to reset these radios. Does anyone here know how Becker resets these radios? Or what is this “reset tool”? One posting I read suggests its a UV light but I cannot see an EPROM in this radio.

The battery is a simple replace at any radio or TV shop locally. Only if we had a reset tool to reload the radio after the battery replace. Sending a radio back to Becker for this is much expensive just to get a reload after a battery. And the dealer can also reset if they have the tool. But most dealers no longer have the toll.

Is the internal battery still in Becker radio 754?
The internal battery is still in the radio holding the ram contents. Which is a part of the security that cannot be removed. They remove the input from the connection between the security connector to the radios CPU and that disabled the security from tripping the radio into theft mode.
