My 3.5 burned one quart during the first 1000 miles, then 1/2 quart over the remaining 4000 miles. After that first oil change @ 5000 miles, it has not burned oil AT ALL. If I am particularly rough on it, it might consume about 1/4th quart in 5000 miles b/w oil changes.
