What kind of vibrations does a Jeep Grand Cherokee have?
Love the Jeep Hate the Vibrations. The low pitched rumbling and vibrations startsat 70 mph, worst at 75mmph, gone by 80mph. Definitely worse when going uphill, when they can start at 60 – 65. The dealer replaced the driveshaft — no change at all. I have a Laredo and I think the wheels are aluminum. Any other ideas?

So after work today I went on some spirited driving and and finally hit the sweet spot of that Damn 70 mph vibration and surprise the vibration is all gone. I also did some nice rips up to 130 mph and my rig is solid and driving like it never did before.
When does the vibration go away in a jeep?
It only happens when the rpms are around 1500-2000 ish under light throttle. Typically it starts at about 40mph then will go away and will come back at highway speeds when the rpm is within that 2k range. If I let off the gas the vibration stops.

I brought it to NTB and had them check the balance of the tires. They claimed they were out of balance but when i driove off i had the same vibration. When i brought it to the dealership they said the drive shaft was to blame and they replaced the drive shaft. drove home and noticed the same problem once again.

Is the drive shaft on a Jeep Grand Cherokee bad?
I test drove a 2006 dodge charger brand new and the drive shaft was bad it had the same vibration. The guys at the shop could not believe it. I live in Canada but have the same problem with a 2005 Grand Cherokee. Have had drive shaft replaced, wheels balances, tranny rebuilt and various other tests.
Do you get a vibration when you accelerate?
I have a 2011 Laredo and while driving under light acceleration I get a vibration around 40 mph and about 2k rpm and then it’ll go away and come back at highway speeds. If I accelerate fast I do not get a vibration. Also the vibration will stop once I left off the gas and the car will coast smoothly.
