What is the difference between VTi and VTEC?
as far as i know, Vti is the name of the variant and i-VTEC is the type of engine. when both the new civics have the same motor, what sense does it make to label one as ivtec… both motors have the ivtec technology and historically..and elsewhere in the world….
How much gas does a Honda Civic VTi use?
97 model, automatic transmission with a 1.6 engine and P50 / liter of gas.. so 500 is 10 liters so 80km is 8km/liter? I think ok naman consumtion mo… traffic ba? o long drive yan?
How does the Honda VTEC engine timing system work?
A third option is to change the cam timing profile, of which Honda VTEC was the first successful commercial design for altering the profile in real-time. The VTEC system provides the engine with valve timing optimized for both low and high RPM operations.
How does VTEC improve the performance of a car?
The improvements in low-RPM performance, which is where most street-driven automobiles operate a majority of the time, occur in trade for a power and efficiency loss at higher RPM ranges. Correspondingly, VTEC attempts to combine low-RPM fuel efficiency and stability with high-RPM performance. This section does not cite any sources.
Where is the VTEC switch located on a Honda engine?
The intake and exhaust rocker shafts contain primary and secondary intake and exhaust rocker arms, respectively. The primary rocker arm contains the VTEC switching piston, while the secondary rocker arm contains the return spring. The term “primary” does not refer to which rocker arm forces the valve down during low-RPM engine operation.
What does VTEC stand for in Honda Civic?
VTEC is a “digital” device. It is either on or off resulting in a sudden transition and change in engine performance and sound at the engagement point. The degree to which VTEC engagement can be felt or heard varies by model and whether the intake and exhaust systems have been modified.
How does a Honda Civic Sport Hatch feel?
Not sure about the Si, but in the Sport Hatch, the Turbo isn’t designed to Kick you in the Pants like VTEC or Turbos of old, but it feels like a strong surge of power that kind of pushes you into your seat from about 3K to 5.5K. It definitely doesn’t have any VTEC ‘yo shenanigans going on. Waiting… waiting… waiting…
What’s the difference between a VTEC and turbocharger?
It provides boost in a linear fashion depending the position of the wastegate and the speed of the exhaust gasses flowing through it. Unlike VTEC, a turbocharger doesn’t suddenly “kick in” at an exact RPM – it provides varying amounts of boost over a wide RPM range. VTEC is a “digital” device.
