One hopes that a faulty light switch is the problem as paying for a Merc technician to find rubbing wires somewhere must be very costly at AUS$270/hr. Due to the lack of rain here in Western Australia, rain having entered the front driver side SAM does not seem to the issue as told by a Merc mechanic.

As there is no after-market light switch available, I have to buy a Merc one from Hawaii and the cost + postage is AUS$600 or US$360, and that is mucho dinero. If the flaw perists, I will have to fork that out obviously as draining a battery is also not wise, that reduces the life.

Why does the parking light stay on on my C240?
In the weeks before the battery on our C240 died, we had some odd light activity this. The front SAM control the voltage feeds to the bulb circuits, and it does not work well in low voltage situations. Is your turn indicator selected on?
What to do if your parking light stays on?
First, check the battery to make sure it’s putting out 12.6v at rest If that seems good, you can try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes or so to see if that resets the SAM. If not, then a trip to the dealer for proper diagnosis is in store. Wondering how much the dealership would charge. Could it be because of the HID kit ?
