What is FAC-COR certification?
The Federal Acquisition Certification for Contracting Officer’s Representatives (FAC-COR) program is for acquisition professionals in the Federal Government performing contract management activities and functions.
What is COR III?
Level III CORs are the most experienced CORs within an agency and should be assigned to the most complex and mission critical contracts within the agency. These CORs are often called upon to perform significant program management activities and should be trained accordingly.
What is COR Level II?
The FAC-COR Level II course is a highly engaging, interactive, instructor-led Face to Face class, held eight hours per day for five days. The 40-hour course consists of several modes of instruction to include lecture, individual and group exercises and discussion.
What is a Level 1 Cor?
Level 1 COR skills are generally appropriate for low-risk contract vehicles, such as supply contracts and orders. Accordingly, this course covers general roles and responsibilities of the COR and CO throughout the acquisition process.

How hard is it to get COR certified?
Don’t worry, it’s not that difficult. It’s designed to get you to pass, not fail. You may not even be required to take a traditional test where you answer questions and mark your answer if you take a classroom only course.
How long does it take to become COR certified?
Overall, this course takes between two and 2.5 hours to complete. After passing the class, you can print your certificate immediately instead of waiting for it to come in the mail.
Who appoints a cor?
Contracting Officer
The nomination is created by the COR and approved by the COR Supervisor. Once the nomination is complete, the COR will be appointed by the Contracting Officer.
