What is code 95 on a c15 cat?
That is an IVA code, (intake valve actuator) if the engine has NOT derated then it will be the IVA oil pressure sensor. This is located at the front of the engine on the head, right side. When you replace it make sure to get a new o-ring with it.
How do you fix code 94 on a Caterpillar c15?
Code 94 is IVA # 5 and 6 that is not responding, current is too high or low. Most of the time the plugs going to the solenoids get brittle and loose contact, or could be a broken wire. I would remove the rear valve cover and check the wiring harness or plugs going to the IVA’s.
Where is the oil pressure sensor on a c15 cat?
The oil pressure sensor is on the drivers side, behind the engine mounted fuel filter. There is 2 sensors together, one is marked ATMOS, and the other is OIL.
What is intake valve actuator?
An Intake Valve Actuator or IVA (also known as a Varible Valve Actuator or VVA) is a device that contacts the intake rocker arm and holds the intake valve of an ACERT Cat engine open in an effort to lower the cylinder temperatures of the engine. This is done to help lower NOX emissions.
What causes low oil pressure on diesel engine?
Fuel or coolant in the oil will cause low engine oil pressure. Excess fluids in the oil consequently will cause high oil levels in the crankcase. It is also recommended to change the oil filter. Sometimes the low oil pressure is due to something so small as a clogged oil filter.
How does a barometric pressure sensor work?
How it works: Aneroid barometer consists of an aneroid cell inside. The aneroid cell expands/contracts when there are small changes to atmospheric pressure. This movement from the aneroid cell causes mechanical levers to amplify, resulting in display pointers to trigger and register as readings on the front display.
Are Cat C15 a good motor?
If tuned correctly, the C15 ACERT can be a strong, reliable engine. There are some problems with earlier models however, which we’ll go over. At the beginning of production a common issue was broken rocker studs.
Where is the intake actuator?
The intake camshaft actuator features a gray electrical plug and is located closer to the front of the vehicle on the top of the cylinder head.
