I have a 2012 Nissan Altima with code p1778 which my transmission doesn’t shift stays in low gear and the code said a step motor malfunction. So I replaced the whole valve body just in case.

Wife has a 2012 Nissan Rogue with 2.5l 4cyl. Throwing code p1778 stepper motor. I bought replacement. Drained fluid almost 7qts and went to installing stepper motor on valve body. I cleaned pan sealed it all up and filled with Nissan ns2 cvt fluid. (6qts to fill line on dip).

Is the Trans fluid pressure low on a P1778?
Because I do have a P1778 code. But I also have a P0868 which is “trans fluid pressure low”. I have the V6 model, not sure if that matters? BTW, I live in the counry about 30 miles from the Twin Cities, and I sometimes have to go there. The drivers on the road near and in the cities are much more aggressive drivers than us country folks.
