What happens when you turn off the transmission on a Kia Sorento?
On three occasions during the first month I owned the vehicle, I have experienced uncommanded downshift from 6th gear to 4th gear at speed. Transmission then locks in 4th gear until shut down and restarted. Very violent event when it occurs, with an instantaneous bang and corresponding immediate loss of speed.
Why is the transmission not shifting out of first gear?
Speed control sensor less than 100.00 and simple to change. i have a 1990 c1500, it has this problem too. i let off the gas and when the rpms go back down it shift . it normally only happens going up hill also. any ideas? 1 people found this helpful. My previous post still applies.
When was the transmission recall on my 2005 Sorento?
I did the transmission recall in November 2008 and had to take back my 2005 sorento 5 times where they told me nothing was wrong but then found other problems to charge me $1,500 for. When I took it to a mechanic to check it out they found that the transmission fluid wasn’t replaced after the repair was done.
Why does my transmission jolt forward when I Shift?
The fluid which creates the pressure to operate the clutches and bands as well as lubricate them is automatic transmission fluid. If your transmission is running low on transmission fluid, the first symptom is usually a hard shifting condition, meaning your car will jolt forward when it shifts.

What does it mean when your transmission won’t shift?
If your transmission is running low on transmission fluid, the first symptom is usually a hard shifting condition, meaning your car will jolt forward when it shifts. With enough fluid loss, your transmission will eventually be stuck in one gear.
