What happens when you shut off the fuel pump?
Gut it and forget it. When you shut power off to the pump it no longer pumps fuel, so the shut-off solenoid is just another component that can put your truck to the side of the road dead. Unfortunately it needs to remain plugged in so the computer can “see it”.
