I have checked all fuses, checked all of the connections, replaced the coil, checked the kill switch, replaced the CDI, and replaced the starter (not the problem but needed changed anyhow). So far new parts include: coil,CDI,voltage regulator, battery,starter, and plug. One thing I did notice that was odd is that the motor will crank even when the kill switch is in the off position. Help!!! Got a test light? You sure you’re getting power at the ignition switch?
Why does my Fourtrax turn over with the kill switch off?
The older machines will turn over with the kill switch in the off position, nothing wrong there. Do you have a service manual for some testing? If you haven’t, pull open the black “waterproof” box under the front plastics where the handlebar wires meet to the main harness.
