What charges the battery on a Polaris Ranger 500?
Polaris recommends using a BatteryMINDer® 12V 1.5 AMP Convertible charger. Charge the battery with a charging output no larger than 1/10 of the battery’s amp/hr rating. Recharge the battery to its full capacity every 30 to 60 days.
How do you test a stator on a Polaris Ranger?
Set your multimeter to diode test mode, and connect the positive side of your multimeter to the negative side of the battery. Next, connect the negative side of your multimeter to each of the three terminals that would otherwise connect to the stator. Each terminal should give a reading of at least 0.5 volts.
What kind of battery does Polaris Ranger have?
This is a 2015 XP900 Crew. If your battery is 12.6v, you may not trip charging on a voltage regulator that is going bye-bye. The Polaris voltage regulators are notoriously bad. There have been a couple fires attributed to overcharging batteries, which obviously, isn’t your issue, but is mine.
Why is the battery on my sportsman 500 not charging?
Voltage on the battery at idle is around 11 to 12v, when I rev engine, voltage does not increase. Battery drains the longer it runs. Rectifier/regulator seems ok. I swapped with one from my other Sportsman and same lack of charging. How do I test the stator and coil and what readings am I looking for on my multimeter?
Can a 12.6V Polaris battery trip?
If your battery is 12.6v, you may not trip charging on a voltage regulator that is going bye-bye. The Polaris voltage regulators are notoriously bad. There have been a couple fires attributed to overcharging batteries, which obviously, isn’t your issue, but is mine. Check the voltage on the alternator input to the voltage regulator.
What should voltage regulator be on Polaris Ranger?
