What causes shutters to close after clutch installation?

What causes shutters to close after clutch installation?

Shuddering like that used to be caused when a clutch pedal was set to engage with the pedal too low. We used to get rid of the problem by adjusting it to engage near the top of the pedal travel. I don’t know if that works with a hydraulic clutch. Then there is the loose rear mount or center driveshaft mount.

Why is the pilot bearing missing on my clutch disc?

A not so far fetched idea is missing alignment dowels between engine and bellhousing. If a complete, high quality clutch package; a clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing and pilot bearing were properly installed shudder should not occur. Were all parts replaced and what brand? Was the pressure plate’s friction surface cleaned with solvent?

When does the shaking of the clutch stop?

The shaking stops once the clutch has been completely engaged. It occurs more often when the vehicle is carrying a heavy load, or when the clutch pedal is partially depressed for prolonged periods, as when climbing a hill in heavy traffic.

What causes clutch chatter in a brand new clutch?

The engine & gearbox can become misaligned due to parts warpage, foreign material between engine & bellhousing or wear of mating surfaces due to loose bolts. There’s also alignment dowels that should be present to keep the engine & bellhousing/gearbox properly aligned.

Why does clutch chatter go away after applying the clutch?

Clutch chatter occurs when the clutch is first applied and goes away after the clutch has fully engaged. Clutch slippage is the continued spinning of the clutch disk without its full engagement. Faulty dual mass flywheels and worn or over machined flywheels result in clutch slippage.
